KAZODA was founded in 2018 by Zoltán Kalászi who is dedicated to collaborative architecture practices which connect different creative fields and artistic approaches.

Zoltán Kalászi studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME), Hungary. During his BA architecture studies in 2010 Zoltán received an Erasmus scholarship to Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey. As an extension of his scholarship he interned at the Danish-Turkish firm Superpool, where he gained experience on installation-, interior design and architectural competitions.

He has attended to EASA as a participant twice (Cadiz 2013, Helsinki 2015) which was followed by a tutor position in Fredericia, Denmark. In 2015 he took part at Hello Wood International Architecture Festival as a workshop leader. From 2012 to 2014 Zoltán was an architect assistant at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Copenhagen and in New York.

In 2014 he returned to Hungary to achieve a master’s degree in architecture. This led to his first own interior design commission: the award-winning Hegyvidék Gallery university project, which is a white cube exhibition space in Budapest. During his final year he received an Erasmus scholarship to study at Porto School of Architecture under the guidance of Nuno Brandão Costa. From 2017 to 2019 he worked at TIBA Architecture on large scale architecture planning.

Zoltán is a member of a Budapest-based collaborative design studio Pálma. As part of his practice with Kiss-Benedek Kristóf they create theatrical scenery for Csaba Horváth, director/choreographer.
